Guar gum, an extract of the legume guar bean, is a galactomannan , a kind of natural green plant gum,commonly used as a food thickener.Guar gum is the most potent and water-soluble natural polymer known. At low concentrations, it can form a highly viscous solution; it exhibits non-Newtonian rheological properties, and forms acid reversible gels with borax.  Appearance is a free-flowing powder from white to slightly yellow, which can be dissolved in cold or hot water, and will form a gelatinous substance in contact with water to achieve the effect of rapid thickening. It is mainly divided into food grade and industrial grade (industrial grade used in oil fields). Widely used in oil fracturing, drilling and other thickening purposes, as well as food additives, printing and dyeing and architectural coatings and other industries.

Used as hair and skin conditioner, antistatic agent and thickener, suitable for shampoos and conditioners.
