Propyl para-hydroxybenzoate is an organic compound with the molecular formula C10H12O3. small colourless crystals or white powder.
Almost insoluble in cold water. Odourless and slightly astringent. It is esterified by p-hydroxybenzoic acid and n-propanol in the
presence of sulphuric acid, and then neutralised, washed, dried and refined into a finished product. Mainly used as preservative
for food, cosmetics and feed. Combined with ethyl para-hydroxybenzoate can improve the preservative ability and solubility.

feedstuffs, and daily-use industrial products.

Uses: Broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity, can inhibit Gram-negative and positive bacteria, and has a strong inhibitory effect
on yeast and moulds. Widely used in cosmetics, medicine, food and other industrial products preservation, also as feed
preservatives. It can be used alone or compounded with other nipagin esters to achieve better antiseptic effect.
