TRIETHYLENE GLYCOL
Triethylene Glycol (TEG) is a colorless, odorless, and hygroscopic liquid with the chemical formula C6H14O4. It has a molar mass of 150.17 g/mol and a density of approximately 1125 kg/m³ at room temperature. TEG exhibits a dynamic viscosity of 49 mPa·s and a surface tension of 45.2 mN/m. Its melting point is -7 °C, and it boils at 287 °C. The thermal conductivity of TEG at 25°C is 0.195 W/m·K, and its specific heat capacity (Cp) is 2162 J/kg·K. It has a refractive index of 1.456 at 589 nm. TEG is also characterized by a flash point of 177 °C and an autoignition temperature of 371 °C. It is non-toxic with an NFPA rating of 1 for both health and fire hazard, and 0 for reactivity .
