L-Aspartic Acid
The l-aspartate is an organic compound with the chemical formula c4h7no4. White crystalline or crystalline powder, slightly sour taste. Dissolves in boiling water, slightly soluble in water (0.5%) at 25ºC, easily soluble in dilute acid and sodiumhydroxide solution, insoluble in ethanol, diethylether, heated to 270ºC decomposition, isoelectric point 2.77, its specific rotation is related to the dissolved solvent. Right-handed in acid solution, left in alkali solution and right in aqueous solution.
