Magnesium Fluoride
Colorless crystal or white powder; odorless;
relative density 3.148; M.P.: 1261C; boiling point:2239C,
soluble in nitric acid, slightly soluble in diluted acid, hardly soluble in water and alcohol; its crystal is provided
with good polarization, especially fit for reagent with violet and infrared light spectrum; toxic.
Mainly used as flux for preparing hot pressure crystal, optical glasses, ceramic industry
and metallurgy magnesium;being used as screen fluorescent material in optical instruments and lens filter coating and cathode-rays.
