Product description:
White powder or colourless crystal. Density: 1.025 g/cm3. Melting point: 220.0-221.5°C. Stable at room temperature and pressure.
Stable at room temperature and pressure. Slightly soluble in water, ethanol, solubility in water is 0.09 g/100ml, solubility in ethanol
is 0.04 g/100ml. decomposed into stearic acid and the corresponding lithium salt when met with strong acid [1]. Insoluble in ethyl
acetate, mineral oil. Forms colloids in mineral oil.

Application: 
used as high temperature lubricant and stabilizer
Dissolve 10g of stearic acid in 100mL 95% ethanol, titrate with 0.5mol/L lithium hydroxide ethanol solution (if lithium hydroxide can not be
fully soluble in ethanol, water can be added to make it fully soluble), with phenolphthalein as an indicator, the reaction reaches the equivocal
point, the precipitation of lithium stearate soap filtration and separation. Crude product can be used 95% ethanol recrystallisation, get pure
product.
