Product Description:
Colorless crystal or white powder.It is provide with violet fluorencence in the light,odorless,relative density 3.14;MP:1261°C,BOILING POINT:2239°C.slightly soluble in diluted acid ,hardly soluble in water and alcohol its crystal is provided with good polarization,especially fit for reagent with violet and infrared light spectrum .toxic.
Used for manufacturing ceramics, glass, metallurgical magnesium metal cosolvent, optical instrument lens and filter coating, cathode ray screen fluorescent material, flux, etc.
1. In the ceramics and glass industry.Magnesium Fluoride is a durable crystal with low absorption, suitable for high-powered laser, space, and other UV applications. Mg/F2 is also naturally birefringent, making it an ideal material for use where this property can be exploited, such as retardation plates and polarizing elements, particularly in the wavelength range from 0.13-0.30 µm.
2. Magnesium fluoride (MgF2) is used to polarize corrective lenses of eyeglasses to reduce the glare of sunlight by selecting the orientation of the light waves passing through the lenses. MgF2 is also used to polarize windows, sunglasses, and similar optical items.
