Xylo-oligosaccharide, also known as xylo-oligosaccharide, is a functional polymeric sugar composed of 2-7 xylose molecules
combined with β-1,4 glycosidic bonds. Compared with commonly used soybean oligosaccharides, fructooligosaccharides and
isomaltose oligosaccharides, it has unique advantages and can selectively promote the proliferation activity of intestinal
bifidobacteria. Its bifidum factor function was 10-20 times that of other polymeric sugars.

1. Promote the reproduction of beneficial bacteria in animal digestive tract, inhibit the growth of harmful bacteria, and improve the balance of
microbial flora. Since xylo-oligosaccharide is not degraded by digestive enzymes and can carry pathogens through the gut, it can play a role in
preventing pathogenic bacteria from colonizing the gut. Pathogenic bacteria cannot use xylo-oligosaccharide as an energy source for their growth,
while beneficial bacteria such as Lactobacillus and bifidobacterium can be activated by xylo-oligosaccharide. Therefore, xylo-oligosaccharides
play an indirect role through beneficial bacteria such as bifidobacteria.
At the same time, the metabolites produced by beneficial bacteria, short-chain fatty acids, can stimulate intestinal peristalsis and shorten the residence
time of chyme in the intestine, thus reducing the toxicity of harmful substances to the animal body.
