Dioctyl terephthalate (dotp) is an organic compound with the formula c24h38o4. Is a transparent oil-like liquid, insoluble in water, soluble in the general organic solvent [1]. Dioctyl terephthalate is a good main plasticizer for polyvinyl chloride (pvc) plastics. Compared with the commonly used diisoctyl phthalate (dop), it has the advantages of heat resistance, cold resistance, volatile volatility, extraction resistance, softness and good electrical insulation performance, and shows excellent durability, soap water resistance and low temperature softness in products.
