Soluble in water, low carbon alcohol, glycerin,N, N-dimethylformamide, partially soluble in acetone, ethyl acetate, slightly soluble in carbon tetrachloride, ether and chloroform. Mainly used in alkyd resin, polyurethane, unsaturated resin, polyester resin, coatings and other fields, can also be used for synthetic aviation lubricating oil, printing ink, etc., can also be used as textile additives and polyvinyl chloride resin heat stabilizer.

Main use

Trimethylol propane is an important fine chemical product, which is commonly used as chain extender in resin industry. Its melting point is low, there are 3 hydroxymethyl groups in the molecular structure, and it can react with organic acids to produce single or multiple esters, react with aldehydes and ketones to produce acetals and ketones, and react with diisocyanates to produce carbamate.

Products are mainly used in alkyd resin, polyurethane, unsaturated resin, polyester resin, coatings and other fields, can also be used for synthetic aviation lubricants, plasticizers, surfactants, wetting agents, explosives, printing inks, etc., can also be used as textile additives and polyvinyl chloride resin heat stabilizer.
